What you are actually playing

Shell Shockers is a browser FPS with genuine weapon behaviour: each class has its own recoil pattern, its own reload window and its own effective range, and none of them forgive holding the trigger. New players almost always lose fights they had already won on aim alone, simply because the fourth round of a burst goes somewhere the first three did not.

Because the format is team-based over six minutes, individual placement in a bracket comes from personal score inside a team result. That produces a specific discipline: holding a useful angle for your side is worth more than roaming for kills, and the players at the top of our boards are usually the ones who died the fewest times rather than the ones who fragged the most.

Who this one suits

The shooter is where our top of the table lives, and it is the only title we actively steer newcomers away from on day one. It suits players with FPS experience, a mouse and a stable connection, and it rewards restraint over aggression in a way most browser shooters do not. Come here after you have learned how our brackets and ladder points behave somewhere cheaper.

How placement is scored

Placement uses your personal round score, adjusted for the team result, across the six-minute clock. The top four of a twelve-player lobby split the pool, and ladder points scale against the standing of the lobby you were drawn into.

Four things that move you up a tier

  • Fire in bursts of three. The pattern is predictable and resets faster than you expect.
  • Hold one angle per life. Roaming costs more score in deaths than it earns in frags.
  • Reload behind cover on a timer, not when the magazine runs dry mid-fight.
  • Play this one on a desktop with a mouse — the touch controls work but they will cost you a tier.
